Los chinos paran algunas plantas en julio por contaminacion. http://in.reuters.com/article/asia-ironore-idINL4N19X1UA China steel futures swing to gains as some mills ordered to cut output * Steel futures rebound from moderate fall in morning trade * Steel mills in Tangshan ordered to cut output from July 12 * More output limits in the last week of July SHANGHAI, July 11 Shanghai steel futures recovered from an early fall on Monday, as the government in a key steel producing area ordered output cuts to fight pollution. The government of Tangshan city in the top steel producing province of Hebei has ordered sintering plants to cut production for the rest of the month as it aims to improve air quality, according to a document issued on Monday and seen by Reuters. "Steel demand has turned out to be better than expected amid a slow season, and there are interruptions in supply while inventories owned by both steel mills and end users are low, so prices are getting a lift," said a trader in Shanghai. Traders said sintering plants and rolling mills in the Tangshan region would have to entirely stop production during the last week of July. The most-active October rebar on the Shanghai Futures Exchange had risen 0.8 percent to 2,421 yuan ($362.04) a tonne by the midday break. It fell in early morning trade and rebounded after the output cut notice was circulated. Cement producers, construction sites and some other plants will also need to cut production and transportation to reduce air pollution, according to the document. However, steel mills are allowed to keep running blast furnaces which are used to process iron ore to pig iron, traders said. Steel demand is expected to get support as China, the world's second-biggest economy, is likely to roll out more stimulus to boost demand and bolster the economy while pushing for supply-side reform at the same time. Soft Chinese inflation and G20 concerns that the global recovery remains grim are hardening views among some economists that more government stimulus will be needed to support China. The most-traded September iron ore on the Dalian Commodity Exchange had climbed 1.8 percent to 431 yuan a tonne by the midday break. Iron ore for delivery to China's Tianjin port .IO62-CNI=SI stood unchanged at $55.20 a tonne on Friday, data from The Steel Index showed.

Los chinos vuelven a prometer reducciones en su produccion... http://www.reuters.com/article/us-china-overcapacity-idUSKCN0ZO0E0 China government-run steel, coal firms to cut 10 percent of capacity in two years: regulator China's central-government run steel and coal firms will cut capacity by around 10 percent in the coming two years, and by 15 percent by 2020, as part of their efforts to tackle gluts in the sectors, the state asset regulator said on Friday. The State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) held a meeting with the 25 coal and steel firms under its jurisdiction at the end of June, it said. The SASAC-run firms include China's biggest coal producer, the Shenhua Group, as well as the Baoshan Iron and Steel Group (Baosteel) and the Wuhan Iron and Steel Group, which have recently announced plans to restructure. China aims to cut 100-150 million tonnes of annual steel production capacity and 500 million tonnes of coal production capacity in the next three to five years, amid waning domestic demand and a long decline in prices.

Los paises afectados son China, India, Italia, Taiwan y Corea del Sur. http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/us-levies-fresh-anti-dumping-duty-chinese-steel-1562060 US levies fresh anti-dumping duty on Chinese steel Karthick Arvinth By Karthick Arvinth May 26, 2016 07:45 BST 1 Steel crisis: Tata's impact on Britain's steel industry in numbersIBTimes UK The US has moved to impose duties on corrosion-resistant steel exports from China and four other countries after ruling that they were guilty of unfairly "dumping" their products at low prices. The Commerce Department announced on 25 May that anti-dumping duties – levied on foreign exporters who sell products at a lesser price in overseas markets than their value in their own country – would be applied on four steel-makers in China. More from IBTimes UK Enter the dragon: Let these fiery photos take you inside a huge steel plant in China Alibaba, TenCent, Baidu and the top ten most disruptive mega-platforms China's futuristic 'hover bus' takes a unique approach to traffic jams by gliding over them Duties will be 210% of the product price of corrosion-resistant steel from Yieh Phui Technomaterial, Jiangyin Zongcheng Steel, Union Steel China and China-Wide Rate. The Commerce Department also levied anti-dumping duties between 3% and 92% on corrosion-resistant steel imports from India, Italy, South Korea and Taiwan. It comes one week after the US government body slapped a 500% duty on Chinese cold-rolled steel imports. Beijing has been criticised by the US and the European Union for its perceived role in oversupplying the global market with cheap steel in the face of cooling demand at home, thus keeping prices depressed. 'Irrational move' China's Commerce Ministry denounced the US ruling as "irrational", and warned that it would hurt cooperation between the two economic powers. "China will take all necessary steps to strive for fair treatment and to protect the companies' rights," it was quoted as saying by Reuters. China steel industry China has been accused of dumping steel overseas to avoid cutting excess capacity in the sectorGetty Images In 2015, five major US steel producers – United States Steel, AK Steel Corp, ArcelorMittal USA, Nucor Corp and Steel Dynamics Inc – filed a formal trade action, alleging foreign companies were selling steel at unfairly low prices. The companies claimed that they had been forced to lay off 12,000 steel workers over the past year as a result. The politically-sensitive US-China trade deficit stood at $366bn (£253bn; €324bn) in 2015 compared to around $84bn in 2000. China's frequent manipulation of its currency, the yuan, has also sparked concern among some policymakers in Washington, who accuse Beijing of artificially depressing its currency to boost exports. Corrosion-resistant steel is steel coated with metals such as zinc or aluminium, along with plastic and other non-metallic substances.

The Australian April 28, 2016 7:39AM Save Print Elizabeth Redman North American Correspondent New York The iron ore price has dropped sharply, falling for the third straight day and suggesting moves in China to curb speculative trading may be starting to take effect. Iron ore fell 5.6 per cent to $US60.50 a tonne overnight, from $US64.10 in the previous session. After the price jumped on several days last week, two Chinese exchanges said they would lift transaction fees for trade in iron ore and steel rebar. The move was seen as an attempt to stem large inflows of money betting on price moves. The price has now fallen 11.9 per cent in the four sessions since reaching a 15-month peak of $US68.70 a tonne late last week. The price has recently been holding at surprisingly elevated levels, in part driven by restocking from Chinese steel mills to take advantage of larger steel margins. China bid to curb iron ore specuIation cheered by miners But another analyst has joined the bearish chorus calling for steep falls ahead — for both the commodity price and the major miners. Morningstar expects iron ore to fall to $US35 a tonne in 2017, remain flat until 2020, and then slide to $US30 a tonne by 2025. Given the gloomy prediction, Morningstar says Fortescue shares have 50 per cent plus downside, and Rio Tinto is also overvalued. The research firm sees rising scrap steel availability and falling steel demand as a threat that could reduce China’s iron ore demand by 150 million tonnes over the next 10 years, Bloomberg reported. In London trade, BHP Billiton fell less than 0.1 per cent and Rio Tinto gained 0.6 per cent.
