NEW YORK, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- Chinese electronics company Xiaomi launched its first event for Mi fans in the United States on Friday, showcasing a series of its latest products to cater potential customers. Themed "Meet Mi in the Box," the event is set to run from Friday to Saturday. The two-day event allows interested users to experience Xiaomi products and meet the team behind these products. About 50 Mi ecosystem products and dozens of cutting-edge products including Xiaomi's latest smartphone series Mi 8 and Mi A2 are on display during the event. Kawa Zseng, 28, a New York resident, who called himself a "techie," told Xinhua that he has become a Mi fan since he bought a Xiaomi Robot Vacuum about one and a half years ago. "Good quality with reasonable price as well as the design makes Xiaomi products attractive, especially for the youth,"said Zseng, adding that he plans to buy a Mi scooter and a Mi smartphone. "The Mi 8 model is quite cool. It's a pity that they are still not available in the U.S. market." Xiaomi already sells devices like the Mi Box S, Mi Home Security Camera, Mi Electric Scooter and the Mi Power Bank Pro in the U.S., but no smartphones so far. Founded in 2010, Xiaomi is an internet company with smartphones and smart hardware connected by an internet of things (IoT) platform at its core. Currently, Xiaomi products are present in more than 70 countries and regions around the world and have a leading foothold in many markets. Xiaomi hosts events and established music, fitness and other social oriented activities to bring its fans together. A robust fan base is part of the secret to its success and there are 1.3 million active Mi fans daily, according to the company. "We expect such kind of activities, which are highly interactive, can help us know more about users' need, since R&D of the products and the buildup of a solid fan base are equally important for Xiaomi,"said Nathan Yu, member of the Xiaomi team. http://www.xinhuanet.com/english/2018-12/08/c_137658520.htm Nada, parece que no hay desembarco aún en EEUU, solo algunos productos, pero no smartphones, de momento.

Today, Xiaomi held its first Mi Fan event in New York City where the company's goal was to create buzz about the Chinese brand that is slowly entering the US market. Less than 700 Mi Fans registered to attend the two-day event where Xiaomi showed off various products that the company offers around the world. Through tomorrow, Saturday December 8, Xiaomi is showing off its latest smartphones: the Mi MIX 3, the Mi A2, the Xiaomi Mi 8, and the P OCOPHONE F1 - which is still the best value smartphone with a Snapdragon 845 CPU. The event also showcased the Mi Home app and its compatible products like smart bulbs, smart plugs, lamps, and a laser projector - in total, Xiaomi exhibited over 50 ecosystem products including cameras, and toys which are all connected to Xiaomi's IoT plaform. As part of the celebration, Xiaomi is offering the Mi Box S - which has been available from Walmart for a while now - for just $40. It does everything a Chromecast Ultra can do but it also comes with a voice remote that's compatible with Google Assistant and it supports Android TV apps. Xiaomi has already been selling a few products at Walmart, but three of the new products coming to Walmart were shown at the event: Mi Wireless Charging Pad: which was first introduced with the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S. Mi Robot Builder Rober: A 1,086 piece kit that can be built as a rover, tank, or a bulldozer Mi Home Security Camera: home surveillance camera with 360-degree view controllable with Mi Home app This was a good and bad year for Chinese companies: ZTE was banned from the US and Huawei hardware is strictly banned from government and carrier use. On the plus side, OnePlus launched the 6T on T-Mobile, putting the widely unknown (to Americans) Chinese brand into carrier stores and Xiaomi sees positive reception to brand. Xiaomi's strategy of bringing lifestyle and home products before bringing smartphones is a great idea. The smartphone market is so saturated in the US already so building rapport with the brand first is a great way to eventually introduce its smartphones once Xiaomi thinks the US market is ready.   https://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_debuts_three_products_in_the_us-news-34616.php

Estoy fuera, a 16.
